Used Yeast Cake Batch 2
With making so many homebrews I wanted to see how long I could reuse a yeast cake. This series will be using the yeast from a small batch(1.25 gallons). I will be using the Mr. Beer 2 gallon fermenter. For this batch I wanted to keep any spice malts out as I did pick up a lot of spice from batch 1 and I wanted to see if it was left over from the other 2 batches that this yeast was used in.
2 LBS 2-Row
4 oz Caramalt
.10 oz Warrior FWH
.25 oz Centennial @ 10 mins
.25 oz Amarillo @ Flame out
Used Yeast from batch 1(this is the 3rd beer that this yeast has been used in)
Color: Golden
Smell: Hoppy dank citrus spice
Tasting: Sweet malt. Toasted malt with some citrus. Im getting some fruity citrus in the back of this homebrew.
Overall: I think with all the sweetness the yeast didnt finish. I would like to see some more malt. I wish I would have saved the yeast and made another batch.
