Centennial Cascade x1 Dry Hop
This is homebrew #14 in our Centennial Cascade 2 Hop series. In this series we are making homebrews with Centennial and Cascade hops. I want to test out what malts, yeast go best with both hops. This version is only using .25 oz of Centennial in the dry hop. The other batches have used .25 oz of both Centennial and Cascade in the dry hop. Here is the recipe I used for this small batch. 1.25 gallons into the fermenter:
2 LBS 4 oz 2-Row
.25 oz Centennial 60 min
.25 oz Cascade 10 min
.25 oz Centennial 5 min
.25 oz Centennial dry hop day 3
US-05 yeast
Color: Hazy bright yellow
Smell: Floral citrus sweet malt. The floral is the biggest smell.
Taste: Sweet floral. In the back you do get a nice citrus grapefruit.
Overall: Good homebrew. I like the sweet grapefruit that Im getting in the after taste. I think only using the Centennial for the dry hop did bring out more citrus and grapefruit in this beer.
