Centennial Cascade x2 Dry Hop
This is homebrew #15 in our Centennial Cascade 2 Hop series. In this series we are making homebrews with Centennial and Cascade hops. I want to test out what malts, yeast go best with both hops. This version is only using .50 oz of Centennial in the dry hop. The other batches have used .25 oz of both Centennial and Cascade in the dry hop. Here is the recipe I used for this small batch. 1.25 gallons into the fermenter:
2 LBS 4 oz 2-Row
.25 oz Centennial 60 min
.25 oz Cascade 10 min
.25 oz Centennial 5 min
.50 oz Centennial dry hop day 3
US-05 yeast
Color: Orange yellow Hazy
Smell: Sweet citrus. Not getting floral. Hint of bitterness
Taste: Big grapefruit citrus bitterness. Hint of sweet malt
Overall: I do like this one. Im not a big floral fan so I would like this one more. I think the 2x dry hop took out most of the cascade in this beer. I think making a smash beer and adding 2x the dry hops would be good for someone that doesnt like floral
