Centennial Cascade S04 Yeast
This is homebrew #19 in our Centennial Cascade 2 Hop series. In this series we are making homebrews with Centennial and Cascade hops. I want to test out what malts, yeast go best with both hops. This version we take the recipe from beer 2 and us S04 Here is the recipe I used for this small batch. 1.25 gallons into the fermenter:
2 LBs 4 oz 2-Row
.25 oz Centennial 60 min
.25 oz Cascade 10 min
.25 oz Centennial 5 min
.25 oz Centennial and Cascade dry hop day 3
S04 yeast
7.52% ABV
Color: NE IPA bright yellow hazy
Smell: Sweet lemon citrus hint of floral
Taste: Sweet grain citrus. Toasted bread in the aftertaste
Overall: Good beer. I think the S04 did help this one out if you are into beers like this. I dont get floral in the taste. I think you could take the cascade out of this one. Something is in back in the taste and Im not sure what it is.
Tasting 2
Color: Bright yellow medium hazy
Smell: Hint of lemon citrus and toasted bread
Taste: Doughy bread some lemon citrus not good
Overall: Not sure about the doughy bread taste im getting. I think it has to be from the S04. I wouldnt brew this one and if I did I would drink it all in the first month.
