Used Yeast Cake Batch 1
With making so many homebrews I wanted to see how long I could reuse a yeast cake. This series will be using the yeast from a small batch(1.25 gallons). I will be using the Mr. Beer 2 gallon fermenter.
1 LB 12 oz 2-Row
5 oz Flaked Rye
4 oz Cherry Wood Smoked Malt
.15 oz Warrior @ 60 mins
.48 oz Motueka @ 15 mins
.25 oz Centennial @ 10 mins
.25 oz Amarillo @ flame out
Used yeast(US-05)
Color: Golden some haze
Smell: Juicy fruit with some pine citrus mix.
Taste: Spice and juicy fruit. I think the spice and fruit is fighting
Overall: I think the pine is from the warrior. This is a different homebrew with the spice and the fruit. I think the flaked rye is bringing more to this beer than I think. The spice could be from the first batch I made with this yeast.
