Cascade Centennial S04 Yeast
This is homebrew #20 in our Centennial Cascade 2 Hop series. In this series we are making homebrews with Centennial and Cascade hops. I want to test out what malts, yeast go best with both hops. This version we take the recipe from beer 1 and us S04 Here is the recipe I used for this small batch. 1.25 gallons into the fermenter:
2 LBs 4 oz 2-Row
.25 oz Cascade 60 min
.25 oz Centennial 10 min
.25 oz Cascade 5 min
.25 oz Centennial and Cascade dry hop day 3
S04 yeast
7.71% ABV
Color: NE IPA dark bright yellow hazy
Smell: Floral citrus with a yeast smell
Taste: A citrus kick. More citrus than #19 with some floral
Overall: Good beer. I get more citrus in this one with the floral being more also. This is more balanced beer than 19. With this one using more cascade we should get more floral but Im not sure why we are getting more citrus.
Tasting 2
Color: Bright yellow with an orange tint
Smell: Floral citrus very low
Taste: Good mix of floral citrus with some sweetness. A hint of Doughy bread in the back. After taste I do get grapefruit
Overall: Like the grapefruit lemon citrus is good but Im getting that doughy bread in this one too. It would have be something from the S04.
