Centennial Cascade with 2-Row Honey Malt and Oats
This is homebrew #18 in our Centennial Cascade 2 Hop series. In this series we are making homebrews with Centennial and Cascade hops. I want to test out what malts, yeast go best with both hops. This version we try and make a beer using the malts we have used in other batches 2-Row, Honey Malt and Oats Here is the recipe I used for this small batch. 1.25 gallons into the fermenter:
2 LBs 2-Row
4 oz Honey Malt
4 oz Oats
.25 oz Centennial 60 min
.25 oz Cascade 10 min
.25 oz Centennial 5 min
.25 oz Centennial and Cascade dry hop day 3
US-05 yeast
7.52% ABV
Color: Burt orange. Hazy
Smell: Floral hint of citrus with some sweetness
Taste: Floral oat honey hint of grapefruit
Overall: Oat honey is something I was not thinking about in this beer. You didnt get the honey in beer 17 like you do in this one.
